Answer Me This...

Why is it a child (Welsey) can cry or grunt in pain non-stop for 31 hours (not exagerating here minus a 45 minute nap and 4 hours sleep last night) and after 3 doctor visits and 2 after hours calls to doctors (not to mention at least 2 break downs by mom) when they walk into the Vanderbilt Children's ER they suddenly start laughing and waving at all the nurses???

He's OK and sleeping now and I'll explain more later when I am not so tired that I want to cry every 34.7 seconds!

Last Stop: The Mother Ship...

If you know me at all, you know I am a Coke addict (as in the drink obviously). Yes, I know it is awful for me and can be used to clean car motors, etc but I justify it that I don't drink or smoke so it's my 1 addiction. Therefore, I was determined that we would go to the World of Coke a.k.a. "The Mother Ship" while we were in Atlanta.
As a homeschool mom it was also a really great learning opportunity as they had lots of things representing cultures from around the world.

Our favorite thing we saw was the bear. He was so cool and funny. We could've watched him all day. I was really wishing the twins could've seen him though they probably would've been terrified!

They have an awesome 4-D movie where you feel and smell things. Everyone loved it and Jon and I loved hearing Nana laugh!!!

The last stop was a tasting station from each continent where you could taste products they sell around the world. Some weren't too bad although they were all terrible sweet, and some were just awful...

If you are planning a trip to Italy any time in the future, please see me so I can warn you about a drink which was the worse things I've ever tasted in my life! Nana tried to warn Jackson and I how bad it was, but we were all about getting the experience so tried it. Big mistake...
At the end is the real all-American Coke station. We were excited to say the least. I don't know if it was due to all the horrible tasting things we had tried or if it was the fact that it came from a tap and was perfectly cold without need for ice, but it was THE BEST Coke I have ever drank. I honestly wanted to punch the employee that told me I couldn't take the cup with me!
We all enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it if you will be in Atlanta. This was a wonderful trip, and it was so fun to take our first trip with Nana and Pop. I hope we didn't scare them off because we had so much fun we'd love to travel with them again!

Why You Shouldn't Leave Boys Alone at the Table at a Girl Cafe...

When Ashton asked me to take her to the restroom I should have known better than to leave the boys alone at the table with Rebecca (and wouldn't have had I known that they actually have holders for your dolls in the stalls!). Look what happened in our absence...

First, she stole Ashton's Shirley Temple with a little help from a very naughty looking boy
(too bad Jon had the camera because I'm sure you could see this look on his face as well!)...

Then she apparently lit up a smoke and in such a nice restaurant!!!

Don't worry, the next time Ashton wanted to check out the restroom, we took Rebecca with us
(both for her own good and for the photo op!)...
I'm sorry that is so bad to post but it was so funny! At least the boys found something fun to do, I guess, rolling smokes that is!
I'm just so glad we were at a corner booth where hopefully no one else saw our smoking doll!

We're Here...

Our table was ready and we headed into our dinner we 3 ladies and 1 doll were very excited about...

For those of you who aren't familiar, the dolls get the royal treatment with their own chairs and menus...
Actually, maybe not all of us were totally excited. The boys were a little less than excited but were really good sports, for the most part. I kept telling Ashton how much they must love her to do this!

Rebecca was very respectful during prayer time...

Jon was as cultured as always...

Rebecca turned out to be a really good eater and I believe she helped make Ashton special birthday perfect!

First Up...

It was the day my sweet girl had been waiting for.

While we waited for our reservation time we had to ride the carousel they have in the mall. The kids were crazy excited by this!

It was Rebecca's first ride but she apparently enjoyed it.

I'm not sure if Jackson wanted to ride this buck or hunt it!

Posted by PicasaWhen we were here 2 years ago Jon and Jackson started their famous game to count how many people commented on the twins. I think that night they counted over 200. This day it was Ashton that was all the talk. As we walked through the mall it was so funny to see everyone comment on her and Rebecca. We had lots of people tell her how cute she was and wonder where she got her outfit. Donnie could've made a fortune selling her creations if she set up shop on the sidewalk outside that place!

Every Mother's Dream...

Since Ashton stunned us by being born a girl, I have dreamed of taking her to the American Girl Cafe. Of course, I still want to take her to Chicago but we were pretty happy when one opened up so close in Atlanta. You can't just wear anything to the cafe of course, so I commissioned Aunt Donnie to make her new doll and her matching outfits and sweet Mrs. Jen made them matching bows. I have to tell you it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen!

Since we didn't buy Rebecca until the day before, I didn't realize she would have curls in her hair. Ashton was very upset that I didn't bring anything to curl her hair. Then we remembered that Nana was one door down and always hot rolls her hair. Nana to the rescue!

Now I have girl twins, lucky me!

Braves Time...

We were thrilled to get Braves tickets for ourselves and Nana and Pop.

Of course, we had to get our picture made with a picture of our favorite Braves Bat Boy, Mr. Brad!

I loved this funny guy who after I got us lost and we walked up a hundred stairs only to find out we were on the opposite side of the park than we wanted to be and I decided to get a picture at least before climbing back down this "funny" guy thought he'd wave in my picture...

After Daddy finally was able to park the car (poor guy!) we settled into our great seats and prepared for a great night!
We got to see some really neat people (on the screen anyway) since they were retiring Greg Maddux's number...
We were excited to see Maddux since we've been big fans and one of the first gifts I ever gave Jon in high school was a poster with him on it.
We were hoping Chipper made some great plays since we were sitting right behind him so we could be on TV! Jackson and Jon were on TV for a few seconds, but of course it was when Ashton and I were getting snacks!
We were obviously good luck since they killed the Mets and we got to witness several home runs.
We also got to see some great fireworks.
We had fun in the parking lot where the old field was. Here's Jackson pitching off the old mound...
We were excited about where Hank Aaron broke the home run record...
It was a great night. Of course, the last time we were here we had 2 6 week olds in slings across us so this was a lot more relaxing!
